Look for shoes painted gold in various parks and trails throughout Wayne County! Golden Shoes will be emplaced and ready for Wayne County discoverers during the week of 22-31 May 2009.

What do you do when you find a shoe?

A ticket will be placed inside your “Golden Shoe” with registration and information for a future event to be held on 6 June 2009--National Trails Day--at the Wayne County Cornell Cooperative Extension, located at 1581 Route 88 N in Newark, New York.

Shoes can be found in the following Wayne County parks and trails:
  • Walworth – Sherburne Road Nature Trail
  • Williamson – Town Loop Trail
  • Palmyra – Aqueduct Park
  • Clyde – Black Brook Park
  • Sodus / Wallington – Rail Trail
  • Newark – Lockville (Clinton St.)
The Hunt for the Golden Shoe is part of Eat Well Play Hard Community Projects, a grant funded by the New York State Department of Health. If you need more information please contact: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wayne County by calling 315-331-8415 ext. 105 or go to: www.eatwellplayhardwayne.org or www.trailworks.org.

Supported in part by a grant from Parks & Trails New York and Wayne County Trail Works.
