Mr. R.L. Murray was featured in the North Rose-Wolcott Central School Disctrict's May 2009 Cougar Pride newsletter. He teaches Social Studies at NRWCS and is a published author of materials relating to the American Civil War.
R.L. Murray has lived in Wolcott for the past sixteen years, with his wife, Tammany, and four children (his olden son is in the Marine Corps). They especially enjoy the area because of the lake and beautiful scenery. Starting his career as a football coach and teacher at Clyde-Savannah, Mr. Murray began teaching at the North Rose-Wolcott Middle School in 1991 and then two years later transferred to the high school.

Over the past fifteen years he has published thirty books about New Yorkers in the Civil War. Recently, his articles have appeared in the Gettysburg Magazine and Civil War Times Illustrated, where his feature about Berdan's Sharpshooters was the cover article. He also teaches a Civil War elective history class through Cayuga Community College. - NRWCS Cougar Pride newsletter, May 2009
All of R.L. Murray's books are for sale on the Benedum Books NY in the Civil War eBay store.
