Joe Pettiti and friends from North Carolina biked on the Erie Canal during Summer 2009, meeting up with others from Fairport, NY along the way. In the Wayne County Life video displayed in this post, Joe states that "the most fascinating thing we've seen so far are the murals along the way, in each town that we've been through--fantastic". The group applauds the mural work of artist Dawn Jordan, and hopes that she brings her art to both Fairport and as far away as the state of Connecticut--where one of the riders originally came from.
The murals that these visitors to the historic Erie Canal in Wayne County and all of New York State enjoy and intentionally seek are part of the wildly successful Mural Mania program which originated in Lyons, NY in 2007 by co-founders Noel Dobbins and Mark De Cracker.
