As part of the Celtic Christmas Festival, Park Church hosted a delicious Celtic Dinner on Saturday, 5 December 2009 in the church basement.
The Celtic Dinner was sold out prior to the event, and for good reason. The Shepherd's Pie was to die for! The main course of the meal was the Shepherd's Pie--in fact it was multiple courses of the meal all in one shot. For those unfamiliar with the dish (as I was), it is a good seasoned ground beef base layer, stacked with a layer of mashed potatoes, and topped with melted cheese. The Shepherd's Pie was served community-style in several large glass bowls that were shared amongst guests at a table. The bread selection--lathered with butter if you fancy--and the desert spread were just as exciting.
