SUBMITTED by Jerry Ashley, Lyons Main Street Program Manager (1-Dec-2009)
Reminder to all of you that this Saturday, 5 December 2009, if the FIRST Lyons Main Street Program's "Light Up Lyons Holiday Lights Parade". The step-off is at 5 pm from Queen and Broad Streets and will continue south on Broad to Church, left on Church to William (we will pass in front of the courthouse), left on William and head north past the elementary school to Broad where the parade will disperse.
We are encouraging everyone to use their imaginations to cover something, anything, in lights and parade it downtown. Light up your dog, your bicycle, your sled, you car, your husband! The wackier it is, the more fun it will be! Drum on the bottom of a five gallon bucket--toot on a kazoo--pass out battery operated candles to the kids and walk the route singing carols, blast carols out of the family van...just have fun and make your friends and family laugh and smile. 'TIS THE SEASON TO MAKE MERRY!
Line up begins at 4:30 pm on Broad between Queen and William--no registration necessary!
