Museum Planning 2011 Military Calendar and looking for Veterans
The Wayne County Historical Society is looking for a “few good veterans” from each town to be photographed for our 2011 Military-themed calendar. We will be photographing the pictures for this 14 month calendar throughout the county at one location in each town (ie, monument, military equipment, or military local). We are now in the process of looking at all of the possible sites throughout the county.
We would like to get the word out to all military veterans to come to the designated photo shoot site and bring (or wear if possible!) their fatigue/work or dress uniform, veteran’s ball cap with a sport jacket or post jacket and bring any decorations they have.
All those interested should submit their names, with addresses, phone number, branch of service and conflict/theater of operations they served in (eg WWII, Pacific Theater, European Theater, Korea, VietNam, Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, Afghanistan) to the Wayne County Historical Society’s Museum of Wayne County History by calling (315) 946-4943 or emailing laevans@waynehistory.org by April 2.
Our goal is to have a representation of veterans from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, WACS, WAVES if possible, and from the various towns across Wayne County.
The photo shoot times and locations in each town will be determined within a month. The dates are as follows:
