Sponsorships Available for Events in Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor

WATERFORD, NY- The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Commission is accepting applications through March 1, 2010 for sponsorship of festivals and events taking place within the Corridor from May through October. A limited number of sponsorships in the amount of $500 are available. Qualifying events must reinforce the Canalway Corridor’s distinctive “sense of place” by promoting or celebrating historic, cultural, scenic, or recreational resources that enhance local or regional character.

The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor is one of 49 federally designated National Heritage Areas. Its purpose is to help preserve and interpret the historical, natural, scenic, and recreational resources reflecting its national significance and to help foster revitalization of canal-side communities.
