Special guest Kent Busman, will be on hand Saturday, 10 April 2010 at 10 AM at Village Bookmarket, 207 East Main St., Palmyra, to share with us his special brand of storytelling.
Kent has honed his storytelling skills around many campfires as Director of Fowler Camp & Retreat Center just outside of Speculator, New York, in the beautiful Adirondacks, for about 20 years. His yarn-spinning, tall tale telling, folktales and storytelling has always been one of the highlights during the week for those who have come to Camp Fowler.
Although we won’t have an actual campfire, we will have Kent, so come an imagine yourself sitting around a campfire on a warm summer’s eve and be prepared to hear “The Cremation of Sam McGee”, “Silly Jack”, “Jacob & Minnie”, and other yarns, tall tales, folktales and stories.

http://www.wakeupwaynecounty.com/According to one of my sources, the person who wrote the RFP (Request for Proposals) was the person who would lose their job should a private waste hauler take over. Almost like if you're the head of the school cafeteria, and the Superintendent asks you to write up letters and send them out to private businesses asking them for proposals on taking over the food service. You're the one in charge of getting rid of yourself. My source told me that the RFP had so many ridiculous requirements that no private business wanted to take over.
So, the County is losing millions running a business the County has no business being in (much like the nursing home) and we are spending other peoples money on 5 trucks to keep this business going, under the guise of "saving money". Had the County followed the FAT Report, we wouldn't be wasting this money now (and tax payers wouldn't have lost $3.5 million on the nursing home this year, and $2.5 million this year.)
