The Peppermint Days Committee has announced a new fund-raising event tagged as “Drag 101” featuring a cast of female impersonators. Members of the cast have been featured in several previous standing-room-only crowd drawing, local performances. All the fun starts at 8 pm and runs through midnight, Saturday night, May 15th at the Lyons VFW located at 202 Geneva Street (SR 14), Lyons. The Peppermint Days Committee, which has sponsored other fun and unusual fund-raisers such as the traveling flamingo flock, is excited about this particular event as it features the talent of one of Lyons’ own, Richie DeSain. DeSain, who is a professional female impersonator in Rochester, was coaxed to bring along some of his cohorts, Miss Deelicious, Dee Dee Dubois, Samantha Vega and Vanity Faire as well male impersonator, Windz, to entertain with a showcase of burlesque and bawdy humor (must be 18 or older!). A full-service bar will be available and tickets are $15.00 in advance or $20.00 at the door. Advanced tickets may be purchased from Dobbins Drugs (52 William St.), Old Lyons Hardware 57 William St.) or the Lyons Main Street Program Office (70 William St.).
As parking is limited, Peppermint Days has arranged for a low cost shuttle between the Village of Lyons municipal parking lot (SR 14/Geneva Street and Water Street) and the VFW. The shuttle will run from 7:15 – 8 pm and again from 12:15 – 1:30 am. Don’t miss out on this evening of laughs and entertainment.
