SUBMITTED by Theresa Streb, Lyons Public Library (23-Jun-10)

For the first week of the Make a Splash summer program at the Lyons Public Library, 122 Broad Street, families are encouraged to attend the daily programming. All programs take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room unless otherwise noted. On Tues., July 6 children will create sand mosaics and work with a puzzle. Fingerprint fish and a cardboard tube octopus are the crafts for Wed., July 7. There is also a pre-school storyhour on Wed., July 7 at 10 a.m. in the children’s area. Children will color a paper fish bowl and then learn how to make it look like stained glass on Thurs., July 8 in the children’s area of the library. And on Fri., July 9 participants will make sea shell picture frames and paint beach stones.

All of the programs are free and registration is not required. Children can still sign up for the reading program as well at the circulation desk. Please note that the library will be closed on Sat., July 3 and Mon., July 5 for the holiday weekend. For more information, call the Lyons Public Library at (315) 946-9262 or email lyonslibrary@owwl.org.
