The first block of Church Street in Newark was closed Thursday as vendors from the Newark Farmer's Market showed off their fresh baked goods, jellies and jams, and the first pick of strawberries, in their new location adjacent to historic Central Park.
The new location is part of a plan to make the market more accessible and visible to residents and attract more vendors. Jessica Wells is the market manager and had been searching for such a location for some time.
Newark Farmer's Market will be located on Church Street through October 14, with an ever changing cornucopia of produce as the growing season progresses.
Contact Wells at 331-9129 or e-mail newarkfarmersmarket@gmail.com
