Summer 2010 Schedule of Events

Tuesdays, June 2010 thru November 2010 – Palmyra Farmer’s Market

• 3-7 pm in the Palmyra Village Park
• Buy fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, eggs, cheeses, jams, pies, cookies, etc! 

Friday, 18 June 2010 – FREE Family Movie in the Village Park at Dusk

• “Planet 51” (2009) American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders...like Chuck! Pull up a blanket or lawn chair (some seating is available), grab some popcorn from Lions Club, and enjoy a free family movie. Bring your family and neighbors, and enjoy a beautiful evening with the stars!

Saturday, 19 June 2010 - Palmyra Community Garage Sale

• 8 am - 1 pm in the Village Park (or at your home!)
• Join Your Friends & Neighbors in the Village of Palmyra for a Garage Sale. Only $5.00 per spot if you are in the park! For Terms & Conditions and to Pre-Register Your Own Space, Call Irene at 597-0011, or the Village Hall at 597-4849. Remaining Garage Sale Spaces may be Available on a First-Come, First-Served Basis at 7 am on the day of the sale. Rain or shine! 

Sunday, 4 July 2010 – PALMYRA’s 4th of JULY CELEBRATION

• Our Local Celebration has become a Tradition! 
• Sunday the 4th of July, beginning at 12 noon: READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, DAR FLAG DISPLAY, COMMUNITY PICNIC, MUSIC, CHILDREN’S GAMES, and much more in the Village Park! Look for details in June at the www.palmyrany.com website, and in the newspapers!

Saturday, 31 July 2010 – Window Painting Contest

• $50 Grand Prize Winner in each Age Group!
• Help your family, friends and neighbors decorate the Village of Palmyra for Palmyra Pirate Weekend by entering Palmyra Window Painting Contest! Palmyra Main Street windows become the canvas (paints & paper will be supplied!) and exhibition gallery for your original artwork beginning on Sat., July 31, (9 am- 1pm) and continuing right through Pirate Weekend. The contest features awards and cash prizes, including the $50 overall Grand Prize in each age group! Prizes will be awarded at a special ceremony on Sat., Aug 7th at 3 pm at the Port of Palmyra Marina. Contest applications must be filed in the Palmyra Village Hall, located at 144 E Main Street, no later than Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Fri., Sat., & Sun., 6-8 August 2010 – 4th Annual PALMYRA PIRATE WEEKEND

• The Pirates of the Erie Canal invade the Port of Palmyra Marina and other venues throughout the Village of Palmyra, bearing a boatload of fun for all ages. A full weekend of adventure and action is planned, including: FREE Movie in the park on Friday night (The Goonies!) , On Saturday a Pirate Regatta Bed Race, Pirate & Kazoo Band Parade, Painted windows along Human Hamster Balls, Main Street, Climbing Wall, canal boat rides, dunking booth, museum and walking tours, pirate tales, live music, food, children’s games, Treasure Hunt, and much more. Dress like a pirate and join the parade!! Don’t forget to bring home some swag from the Pirates Bazaar, a sidewalk sales extravaganza from Palmyra’s Main Street merchants.
