SUBMITTED by Richard and Carol Elaine Deys, Farmington Meetinghouse (23-Jul-2010)
The newly evolving 1816 Quaker Museum just over the Wayne County border in Farmington, NY is highlighting a great deal of the Wayne County history. We are in the process of restoring this museum, and an OPEN HOUSE will be held tomorrow, July 24th downstairs at the Farmington Friends Meeting House on County Road 8, in Farmington. There will be displays, tours, a creative children's table for the young ones and the child within all of us, and refreshments.
The focus of this celebration will be the combined voices of early Quakers and the Seneca Native Americans in this area. The Canandaigua Treaty was well established by all of them, and we celebrate its intent to make a difference. We will be there between 11:00 and 3:00 PM on Saturday. Come and share in your local history! Help us to make a difference! There is always room for suggestions, new information and the grace of your presence. Info: 315-986-2302. No answer, leave a message - we will call you back!
