Pultneyville Homecoming Festival: July 17 & 18, 2010
Art, antiques, wine and jazz all add up to a recipe for a fun summer day for Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society’s 53rd Annual Homecoming Festival on Saturday, July 17. Start off your visit by enjoying your ride through rural Wayne County, looking at the developing fruit growing on rows and rows of trees as you enter this historic hamlet. Begin by browsing the wares of antique dealers situated under shading maples in historic Centennial Park at the corner of Lake Road and Hamilton Street. Stroll up Mill Street, stepping back in time as you view the vintage cars on display as you head toward The Landing. Enjoy your view of Pultneyville Harbor before you enter Artisan’s Loft at The Landing to take in the “Positively Pultneyville” art show. Both the Antique and Art segments of the festival kick off at 10:00.
The Food and Farmer’s Market starts at 11:00 with the official start of the Wine and Jazz segments kicking off at the completion of the annual Homecoming Parade at 12:00 noon. We’re excited to be bringing together some of the area’s finest growers, food vendors, wine producers, artists and musical venues. You are a necessary ingredient and we invite you to join us for this Festival where you will have an opportunity to see, sample and to purchase fine quality wares proudly produced in our area. In addition, the Pultneyville Mariners will host the 4th annual Sunfish Revival Regatta, with the first race launching at 10:00 am. Awards for the top three finishers in Race Class and Recreational Class will be announced during the event.
For those who would like to enjoy yet another day in Historic Pultneyville additional activities will continue on Sunday, July 18th. Sunday morning begins with a Pancake Breakfast in Shalom Park’s Memorial Pavilion behind the Pultneyville Reformed Church from 8:00 to 9:30 AM. Donations for this event will be accepted. Beginning at 10:00 AM there will be community worship service(s). At 1:00 PM a concert will be held in Centennial Park in the center of Pultneyville, so bring your lawn chair and come and enjoy the music! Pultneyville Civic Light Opera Company will also continue with their performance of “Trial by Jury” later in the day. This will be a wonderful way to round out the weekend in this hamlet that “time forgot”!
Advanced Sale tickets for Wine Tasting are $15.00, $20.00 at the gate and $10.00 for Designated Driver. Tickets for this event may be purchased at www.lakeontariowinetrail.com which may be accessed directly or through the PHS website listed below. Tickets for “Trial by Jury” may be purchased through Pultneyville Civic Light Opera Company. Donations for the Pancake Breakfast will be accepted at the breakfast.
