SUBMITTED by Carol Elaine Deys, 1816 Farmington Museum and Surrounding Communities (21-Aug-2010)
On Saturday, 28 August 2010 from 11:00 until 3:00 there will be an Open House for the newly evolving 1816 Farmington Quaker Museum. The Farmington Friends Meeting House has graciously allowed us to use their Educational Wing - 187 County Rd. 8, Farmington for this event.
The Valiant Friend, Lucretia Mott (courtesy of Beverly Owen of Wayne County) will be there to share her story, and exciting historical discoveries are just waiting to be revealed. Judith Wellman, Project Manager will also present some interesting historical facts, and an open discussion will follow. There will be three tours presented. If you have stories and pictures which relate to this event and all that walked before it, please bring them to share.
This is the third Open House in a series of many, and it will be focusing upon The Women's History Movement in our area. This history belongs to all of us! It IS a vital part of our lives. Refreshments will be served. Info: Richard & Carol Deys, 315-986-2302 - Paradeysacres@aol.com
