Do you have an ‘emergency fund’ of 6-12 months’ income in a bank account you can get to immediately? “If your emergency fund is a credit card,” says financial expert Dave Ramsey, “this program is for you!”
Even after 10% of Americans cut up their credit cards due to the economic slump, over 70% of Americans are still building up debt using credit cards – that’s 576.4 million cards in circulation, almost two cards for every man, woman, and child in the U.S. today! And of those who have credit card debt, the average amount is a whopping $15,788.00. That doesn’t even include loans and payments on big-ticket items like cars, boats, and houses.
Dave Ramsey is a nationally-syndicated expert on managing household finances. He uses traditional, common-sense, Christian guidelines to help people get out of debt, build up savings, and manage risk. The Williamson Presbyterian Church – the red, brick church on Main Street – is offering this program, at cost, to residents in the area as a service to the many people who have too much month and not enough paycheck. This 13-week program runs consecutive Tuesdays starting September 14th from 7-9 PM at 4057 Ridge Road in Williamson. If you would like to stop worrying about money and start feeling in control of your finances, please call 589-8260.
