SUBMITTED by Vicky Daly, Village of Palmyra (20-Sep-2010)
Palmyra dedicated its second student designed and created mural on Saturday, September 18,2010 at the Port of Palmyra marina. 17 members of the Pal-Mac Middle School Art Club created the mural which depicts the north side of Palmyra's Main Street under the direction of Art teacher Erin Nilsen. The mural had its origin with the offer of a location for it from Joe Van Scott, retired local builder. The offer was accepted and Ms. Nilsen oversaw the student to create the mural.
The village's first mural, seven panels depicting important people and events in Palmyra's history, is located on Market Street opposite the museums of Historic Palmya. It was done by Pal-Mac high school students working with Art teacher Molly Day-Karpovage.
