NEWARK – (Sep 30 10) – Geneva goalie Cody Brinkman was busier than a cat with a long tail in a room full of rocking chairs on Wednesday when Newark’s shooters peppered the Panther nets with 21 shots. Brinkman stopped 18 of them to have a great day, but it was Newark keeper Nate Otero who got the shutout, 3-0, making eight saves of his own.
Omar Jaohar got the first goal for the Reds in the 21st minute off a nice cross from Vicente Andrade. Five minute later, Matt Sittig connected on a penalty kick. Newark finished off the scoring two minutes into the second half when Derick White slipped a pinpoint pass past a Geneva defender to get the ball to James Jock, who put the ball in behind Brinkman.
The Reds are 3-6-1 (3-4-1 league).
