Newark- The Newark Chamber of Commerce will offer its first "Wine & Arts Walk" on Saturday, September 25 from 2-5 p.m. rain or shine. An afternoon of art, history, wine and music will begin at T. Spencer Knight Canal Port at the Port of Newark. Music provided by Nick Gillette and sponsored by Wegmans and IEC will begin at 2 p.m. A chicken BBQ and pizza vendors will be on site.

The walk and wine tastings will begin at the Chamber office located at the Port. receive your wine glass, directions and suggested itinerary as well as the first tasting.

Along the route visit student artwork on display at Ruffalo's Appliance and Market Alternatives on South Main Street, the Empire Crafts Corporation exhibit at the Newark-Arcadia Historical Museum on High Street, the historical clock collection at the Hoffman Clock Museum at the Newark Public Library and the 2010 Members Show of "Landscapes and Florals" at the Wayne County Council for the Arts on West Miller Street.

The walk ends at the lovely Vintage Gardens Bed & Breakfast at 310 High Street, where Zugibe's Vineyards and Wegmans will offer wine tastings and cheese pairings.

Advance tickets for the wine tastings and walk are recommended and can be purchased at Newark Wegmans or the Chamber office on Van Buren Street. The cost is $10 and benefits the chamber community events. Participants must be 21 years oor older. With a purchase of dinner that evening at local restaurants Burnham's Canalside, The Corner Tavern, D's South of the Border, or Parker's Grille & Tap House- participants receive a free glass of wine, beer or soda.
