This letter is written to speak on behalf of support for Jim Elliot for Palmyra Village Trustee. I have been a resident of Palmyra for just over six years, but for five of those years, I have known Jim. I first met Jim on a historical tour of Palmyra; his lengthy knowledge of the village history and his cheerful, pleasant demeanor drew me to him instantly.
Since then, I have known Jim extensively through the Palmyra Preservation Commission, on which we both serve. Jim stepped up to the plate in our time of need as our first President needed to step aside due to a family emergency. Jim’s leadership, coupled with his ability to constructively approach any issue concerting him, is admirable. Jim continued to serve as President for our Preservation Commission, refusing to step down, while he battled cancer. Jim has resumed his duties and remains a strong advocate for the historic preservation of our beautiful village.
For all these commendable traits, I strongly recommend Jim Elliot to be our next Village Trustee.
