NEWARK (OCT 15 10) -- The Lady Reds volleyball team got tested in the first game but ended up smotherig Penn Yan in the next two to come away with a 3-0 win Thursday night (25-23, 25-12, 25-19).
"The girls played well, controlled the ball on defense and committed very few offensive errors, which has been a problem all year," said coach Matt May.
Melissa Kline lead Newark with eight kills and six digs while Allison Miller recorded seven kills and had three aces. Maria Croft tallied 13 assists. Newark plays in the Waterloo Dig Pink tourney on Saturday.
