In recognition of his efforts to support job growth in Upstate New York’s critically important manufacturing sector, cut taxes and remove unnecessary regulations that impede job development, State Senator Mike Nozzolio has been endorsed by the Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY). MACNY is the largest association of manufacturers in New York State, representing nearly 350 job producing businesses and 55,000 individuals across Upstate New York.
“Manufacturing employs over 550,000 New Yorkers and contributes $65 billion annually to New York State’s economy. Helping New York’s job-creating manufacturers thrive is integral to the economic recovery of our State,” said Senator Nozzolio. “If we are going to get New York State moving the in the right direction again, creating a favorable environment for manufacturers to grow must be our top priority. It is an honor to receive this recognition from MACNY and I am more determined than ever to fight to grow jobs, enhance manufacturing, and revitalize the Upstate New York economy.”
“During such difficult economic times, it is critical now more than ever to have representatives that will work towards a better business climate for New York State, regardless of what side of the aisle they sit on,” said MACNY Chairman Dean Burrows in an announcement of the endorsement. “We are pleased to be endorsing Senator Mike Nozzolio.”
Senator Nozzolio was recognized by MACNY for his pro-growth, pro-manufacturing voting record. He has consistently fought and voted against tax increases that would impede manufacturers from creating jobs, including increases on energy bills and health care. In addition, he is sponsoring legislation (S.6132) to remove the job-killing 2% tax assessment on utilities which was adopted in the 2009 budget.
Currently, Senator Nozzolio is fighting for a comprehensive Economic Recovery Plan to help manufacturers and other private sector job creators recover from the recession. This plan includes:
· Job Creation Tax Credit to employers for every NEW job created;
· Implement a tax and fee moratorium for manufacturers
· Eliminate the corporate franchise tax on manufacturers;
· Impose a total moratorium on red tape imposed by State agencies.
“Every manufacturing job creates more that 2.5 related jobs in other sectors. We can and must take the necessary steps to help our manufacturers put people back to work and turn our State’s economy around,” said Senator Nozzolio. “I look forward to working with MACNY and job-creating manufacturers throughout Upstate New York to create a better future for our children, friends and communities.”

Don't understand how when Nozzolio has been in office during the downfall of upstate's economy how all of a sudden he is the answer to the problems that that happened under his watch. I think all lifetime politicians(not just him) should move on and let others try. It seems once they get elected their priority (whether they are dems of rep.)is to get reelected.

I agree and us the voting public deserve the inept government we have. Lets face it in wayne county a monkey could run on the republican line and get elected as I am sure there are areas when the opposite is true. So until us voters vote based on ideas and accomplishments we are domed.

We need a new voice, not the same old rhetoric. Politicians lose their perspective when they have been in office for 18+ years.What about our other issues? What about the garage dump in Seneca Meadows,water contamination in the finger lakes, training work forces for different jobs? It is easy to jump on voter tax discontent just ot get elected another time. He has lost perspective, he has been in Albany too long. Here is the alternative Osheaforsenate.org

I would like to know what Senator Nozzolio was when area businesses caused people to lose jobs when they sent jobs out of state and/or country. He was in Albany 28 years, much under Republican control. Why hasn't he done more for the economy during that time. Those big checks he gives to organizations are not his money, but tax payer money. It is time for a change - Vote for Ed O'Shea

Sorry but NY doesn't need any more Democrats. In case anyone has noticed our Governor is a Democrat and has taxed everything under the sun.
Our President is also a NON career politican and look what he has done for this country?
I'd rather vote for no one than ANY we have running.

There you go what we don't need is elected officials who put their party or their reelection ahead of what is best for their citizens. Bad ones come in all parties so don't generalize
