The Peppermint Winter Wonderland committee held their 2nd annual Light Up Lyons Holiday Light Parade this past Saturday evening. The village streets were lined with patrons and residents to view creative entries donned with lights.
This year's merry theme, "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree", sparked twinkling trees on floats and cherubs dressed as Christmas trees. Entrants of all ages participated by either singing, playing instruments, dressing up in adoring lights or walking their pet through the jolly streets decked out in holiday spirit. This year, an added category for pooches, Holiday Hound Dog, allowed for an award for the best canine in lights. Alicia Linzy's dog, Mixy. was this year's Holiday Hound Dog. Other winners include the Lyons Fire Dept. for best use of lights, the Elementary School won Most Original and the LHS Band won for Best Music. Congratulations to all!
