Steps of Faith Missions Dance Team
The Steps of Faith Missions Dance Teams put on a seasonal performance tonight that paired the story of the Nativity with contemporary ballet. The presentation, in two acts, depicts the jubilation at the birth of Christ and is narrated in great style by Steps of Faith Artistic Director,  Diane Lavalley. The biblical reading of the story of the Nativity sets the stage for each dance performance executed by the various members of the dance troupe. The choreography, by Rachel Platt, was charming and graceful and Rachel performed a lovely dance with the baby Jesus (her own son, Zachary, born three months ago). "Oh, Holy Night" was beautifully danced en pointe in a solo by Lauren Murray. All age groups participated and the three youngest dancers delighted all with their winning combination of sweetness and enthusiasm.

The performances of "Let Earth Receive Her King" continue Saturday, December 18th and again Sunday, at 2 pm at the Lyons Community Center. The LCC concession stand will be open before and after the performances as well as during intermission. The Steps of Faith Missions Dance Team is also raffling gift certificates to local eateries at each performance. Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors and $3.00 12 and under. Bring the family to enjoy this Christmas event while supporting the Steps of Faith Dance Studio and the Lyons Community Center.

Pictures are from Friday night's performance.
