SUBMITTED by Theresa Streb, Lyons Public Library (25-Jan-2011)

The Lyons Public Library, 122 Broad Street in Lyons, is once again sponsoring a winter film seres. This year's theme is "Tough Dames on Film." The first film to be shown is "The Big Street" with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda on Sat., Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Library's Community Room. Lucille Ball plays an icy nightclub singer who dates only rich men. She is dumped down the stairs by one of them and will never walk again. Henry Fonda, who plays a love sick sap, loves her but she ignores him even though he is the only one who truly cares about her. Hot chocolate and popcorn will be served.

This program is free and open to the public. Parking is available in back of the Library, off of Phelps St. A complete schedule can be picked up at the Library. For more information, call the Lyons Public Library at (315) 946-9262 or email lyonslibrary@owwl.org.
