The Newark Pilots of the newly formed Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) officially announced their 2011 schedule today. The forty-eight game regular season will begin on Thursday, June 9th when the Pilots travel to Watertown to take on the Wizards. Five more road games will follow before the Pilots return to Colburn Park for their first ever home opener on Friday, June 17th. Opening Night will feature fun for the whole family (music, clowns, balloons, and face painting), special ceremonies prior to the game, exciting baseball action as the Pilots battle the Wizards on the field, and fireworks following the game.

The twenty-five home game schedule will also feature numerous promotional nights such as Cap Night, T-shirt Night, Weenie Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursdays, Newark Chamber of Commerce Night, and a Childcare Day starting at 12 Noon on July 21stsponsored by CSEA. In addition, McDonald’s of Wayne County and Big Dog Country radio have joined forces to present the first ever Junior Pilots Club for kids. More details will be upcoming in the near future.

On Monday July 25th, the Pilots will play a special exhibition game against the United States Military All-Stars as they make a stop in Newark on their Road to Ground Zero Tour. The U.S. Military All-Stars are the "world ambassadors" of baseball. As the largest and most successful military barnstorming team ever created, they deliver competitive, exciting "must see" patriotic entertainment that has been enjoyed by millions while visiting 45 states and 12 countries.
