Just in case you hadn’t noticed, we have made a couple of changes around Wayne Arts. Bill Finewood graciously volunteered his design and graphic arts talents to create a sign for the front yard of Wayne Arts. That led to the design becoming our new logo. Frank Scalise donated quite a bit of his time to cut out and paint the sign, Wayne Williams helped put it all together, and the town came out to mark the telephone and electric lines as well as give advice on the placement of the footers. Bill, Wayne and Frank erected the beautiful new sign. A HUGE thank you to all involved in helping to make this dream come true. We’ve needed a real sign for a long time. Hopefully, now, people can find us easier and come see what we’re all about.
In addition to our new signage/logo, we have a brand new website. The website address is still www.wayne-arts.com. You will find information on all of our upcoming exhibits, children and adult classes and our special events planned for 2011. Forms are also available to sign up for classes, membership, special events and gallery store consignment information.
From early March through December 2011, Wayne Arts will host month-long exhibitions of art in our Main Gallery created by both known and up-and-coming local artists. Our members will be exhibiting their art in our Members Gallery.
Our first “Day with the Arts” was such a big success that we will be holding our second one on July 16th from 10:00 to 4:00 pm. Local artists will again demonstrate their skills and show how they create their art. We will also have entertainment, food and some surprises for everyone.
A section of our art gallery is also home to an art gift shop, wherein unique, handmade pieces of art, created by talented Wayne County artists, are offered for sale. If you are looking for something different for that special someone, check out our gift shop. Gift certificates are available for art items and classes.
Wayne Arts is operated and administered by an outstanding core of hardworking volunteers. As a small, non -profit organization, we are continually in need of support in many different ways. We look to the generosity of our members, friends within the community, businesses, charitable foundations and government to support and maintain our programs. Support for Wayne County Council for the Arts helps us in our effort to further the arts, artists and the community.
