Wayne County Council for the Arts is pleased to present the 2011 Wayne County Middle School Art Exhibit from April 7th through the 28th . This exhibit highlights the artistic talent of some of our younger artists in Wayne County.
In addition to our Middle School Exhibit, Kevin Donoghue will be presenting his photography in the Members Gallery. Since childhood, Kevin wanted and desired to be an artist. Early interests were in painting on canvas, but in college he decided to study photography. He states: “Seemed like a logical progression and was a perfect medium for me; combining light, colors, science and as always, composition”.
After college, he worked in commercial photography creating multiple transparencies, custom enlargements and maintaining a traditional darkroom. Kevin also photographed portraits and weddings during this time and continued to grow both professionally and artistically during these years.

Kevin says, “It was a pleasant awakening for my love of photography and enabled me to experiment with endless possibilities in the new digital dark room. I have always been an observer of people. Human emotions, gestures, and relationships truly fascinate me. In portraiture, I feel the same way in composing the moment as I do in my art, IN the moment and readily with my trusty camera.”
Plan to join us at the Opening Reception to be held on Sunday, April 10th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Parents, friends and public welcome.
