The 3rd Annual
Brantling Bluegrass Festival will be held August 4 - 6, 2011 at Brantling Ski Slopes, 4015 Fish Farm Road, Sodus, NY. Festival co-organizers Kevin Spear, owner of Brantling and Mike Garlock, owner of Northern Wayne Auto announce Mountain Heart, The Larry Stephenson Band, and The Dixie Bee-Liners will headline the three-day event. Also gracing the stage are returning bands: Bristol Mountain Bluegrass, The Jesse Alexander Band, Delaney Brothers, and Dorothy Jane Siver. New to this year’s event is Plexigrass, Rebecca Colleen & the Chore Lads, Allegheny Blue and Lake Effect.
“We are so excited to bring such talent to the Sodus area. Each band brings its own unique bluegrass style and when brought together in a beautiful venue here at Brantling, what could be better? There is something for everyone and our festival is sure to please a wide array of musical tastes,” said Garlock.

The three-day event runs each day 12 pm - 9 pm starting Thursday August 4th. The venue is held across the street from the slopes on flat terrain. The gate opens Wednesday August 3rd to campers. FREE rough camping is available with the purchase of a three-day ticket. Rough camping is provided for tents, campers, and RV’s. Electricity and water is not available. Porta-Potties are located throughout the festival and camping grounds and festival goers will have access to the bathrooms inside the ski lodge. Audience tents are available to those seeking shelter from the sun or rain. Craft and food vendors will be on-site each day. Parking is free. Small dogs and pets will be allowed in the camping area and slope side for our weekend visitors. No dogs or animals will be allowed in the festival area.
Brantling Ski Slopes, Inc. is known as the “family place to ski and snowboard.” The connotation behind this motto is very significant to Spear and bringing family friendly events to Brantling is paramount. “Our three-day event will bring families, from near and far, together for 3 exciting days of music. In addition to the music, families can enjoy camping, hiking the slopes, fishing in the pond, and offerings of our food and craft vendors”, said Spear. “Wayne County offers a plethora of activities for families to enjoy before and after the music from the beautiful bluffs and beaches of Lake Ontario to visiting area farm markets and wineries,” added Spear.
