“Father’s Day is an exciting time for us at Long Acre Farms because it is such a great opportunity for families to spend time together,” said Joan Allen, co-owner of Long Acre Farms and JD Wine Cellars. “We have always been proud to offer an affordable and fun escape for families.”On June 18, Long Acre Farms welcomed the Williamson Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol. The Squadron, and their cadets launched rockets they built on the farm’s runway. Guests came to watch the rockets, which were launched to an elevation nearing 1,500 feet, and to sign up for the cadet program. The Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, formed to provide emergency services, aerospace education and cadet programs for the community.
