Finger Lakes IMPACT Football Team’s 2nd Season began with a 20-13 Victory against Lyndonville on June 4. Home Opener is June 11 at 7:00pm at Tom Coughlin Stadium at Waterloo High School, Stark Street , Waterloo, New York. Newark co-owners Jeff and Penny Teed and many players and staff are from Wayne County towns.
IMPACT is in the Northeastern Football Alliance (NFA) which consists of minor league teams with players age 18 and u(some in their 40’s and 50’s). Players play for the love of the game, and may be scouted by colleges and professional teams.
IMPACT’s returning All-Stars include: Offense: Jessie Higgins, Newt Jones, Jason Rago, Bryan Teed, Earl Hudson Defense: Cheagan Wilson, Mike Looney Coach: Jeff Teed. 2011 Try Outs were in January and weekly indoor practices began soon after. For a few months outdoor practices and scrimmages were held. IMPACT is committed to helping community organizations and will sponsor a series of benefit games, including those for Habitat for Humanity, Milly’s Pantry, and IMPACT in Pink Breast Cancer Awareness.
This Saturday, June 11, will be Military Appreciation Night welcoming veterans, and providing related music and a military color guard. Home games are June 11, June 19, July 9, July 16, and August 6. Games are on Saturday nights at 7:00pm at Waterloo High School. IMPACT will also host the NFA All-Star Game on September 24. Everyone is invited to attend the June 11 Home Opener to support your local Finger Lakes football team in a family friendly atmosphere! Come watch quality football in a comfortable stadium, enjoy delicious refreshments, and meet the players.
