July at the Lyons Farmers' Market
Submitted by: STUART SMART
Local produce really comes into its own during July, including all types of fresh beans, blueberries, raspberries, summer squash, greens ... The list goes on.
Jim Murphy will be playing his cheerful music on July 2nd, the first of five Saturday markets this month. You will also be able to buy baked goods at the Lyons Music Boosters' tables.
The following weekend is Peppermint Days and the Market will be shifted to Pearl Street for this one day.
On July 16th there is going to be a demonstration by Newark-based Premier Martial Arts, including hands-on activities. After working up an appetite, you can stop by the Lyons Methodists' bake sale.
More fun on the 23rd as the young performers of Curtain Call strut their stuff by the bandstand, while the Eureka Grange folks offer some of their finest baked goods.
Lastly, the Relay for Life group from Clyde will hold a bake sale on the 30th. There will also be a jewelry raffle to benefit the Victim Resource Center at their information booth.
Pick up some coffee and fried dough, enjoy some great music and spend a little time with your friends, each Saturday from 7:30 to 11 a.m. by the Village Park.
Participating vendors will gladly accept WIC coupons and EBT tokens. For more info, contact Stephanie at 945-6569.
