The fifth week of summer programs for children at the Lyons Public Library is fast approaching.
Building with Legos will take place on Mon., Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. Children are encouraged to come and let their imagination run wild building with Legos.
The fifth week of summer programs for children at the Lyons Public Library is fast approaching.
Building with Legos will take place on Mon., Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. Children are encouraged to come and let their imagination run wild building with Legos.
- On Tues., Aug. 2 at 1 p.m., Dance Around the World with Rachel Rabideau will be here. Children will be introduced to the music and movement of Africa, India, Ireland and Thailand. They may even be taught a few steps. This program is supported in part by Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
- Travels with Sharon Smith, Part 1 takes place on Wed., Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. Children will learn about the languages from the different countries Sharon has been to and the types of books students learn from in those countries.
- The second part of Travels with Sharon Smith on Thurs., Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. will feature traditional musical instruments from some other countries. Children will be able try out some of the instruments and there will be costumes from countries as well to try on.
- An International Food Tasting will be held on Fri., Aug. 5 at 1 p.m. Families are encouraged to come and taste different foods from around the world and go home with recipes to try.
