There will be many activities and fun things for children and families at this year’s Pultneyville Homecoming on Saturday, July 16.
Starting off the day will be a 5K race, staged at B. Forman Park, and it will include a category for 14 yr.olds and younger. Pony rides will be available starting at 10AM; this is by The Little Dude Ranch and will be on the west lawn of Gates Hall. At 10AM, Edmund Howard, renowned storyteller, will be on the side lawn of the Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society to entertain the young and not-so-young, courtesy of the Williamson Library. The Williamson Fellowship of Churches is sponsoring old-fashioned games from 1-4PM behind the Pultneyvlllle Reformed Church. This will include a 3-legged race, a sack race, to name a few - a sure way get the whole family laughing! The Sea Scouts’ schooner, Lotus, will be docked at the Pultneyville Yacht Club for the day and will be open to tours from 1-4PM. Face-painting will be available also throughout the day. Do you have a young golfer in your ranks? A hole-in-one/closest-to-the-pin contest will be held behind the Pultneyville Reformed Church from 10AM-3PM.
Be sure to join us for what will be a most entertaining day for the whole family! The 54th Pultneyville Homecoming is an annual community celebration held in Historic Pultneyville and will be on Fri. July 15, Sat. July 16 & Sun. July 17, 2011. Visitors from both near and far will enjoy many traditional events – an antique show, parade, antique cars and boats, a Gilbert & Sullivan production, an auction, a concert in Centennial park, and sunfish regatta along with many new events – a 5K race, a hole-in-one contest, pony rides and children’s games. Live music, an art show, wine-tasting, folk art and primitives are among a long list of things that can be enjoyed at local businesses in the immediate area.
