The first Captains and Sailors 5K race is planned for Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Forman Park (tentative location) in Pultneyville during the 54th annual Pultneyville Homecoming celebration. The walkers will begin at 8:10 AM and the runners at 8:30 on a route that goes by many historic sites plus offering a beautiful view of Lake Ontario on parts of the route. T-shirts are being offered to the first 75 entries with prizes given to the first place finisher in each age division for males and females in the running division and first place finishers in the male and female walker division.
This race is part of a series of three 5K races planned by the Williamson High School French Club. These 5K races are being offered to those who are interested as a means to raise funds for a trip to France in December 2011. The Tour de Pommes 5K and the French Toast 5K are scheduled for June 18 and August 20 respectively. If you sign up for the three race series there is a $5 discount.
