Wayne County Council for the Arts is pleased to present “Visit Yesteryear – Art and Floral Tea Tables”. "Taking Tea" is a daily tradition in some parts of the world and a decadent luxury in others. However you see afternoon tea, we don't know anyone who doesn't love the opportunity to set aside a busy life to enjoy a cup of tea, beautiful flowers, luscious treats, and a wonderful visit with friends.
The Newark Garden Club members will be decorating tea tables with their own china as well as displaying individual floral arrangements for each table.
While you enjoy the Then and Now Art Exhibit and decorated Tea Tables, A “Victorian Tea” will be served by Wayne Arts and the Newark Garden Club members on Saturday, September 10th from 12:00 until 3:00 pm. The menu will include hot and cold tea, lemonade, tea sandwiches, fruit kabobs and cookies. Please call 315/331-4593 for reservations.
The Newark Garden Club will be donating several “Gift Baskets” to The Wayne County Arts Council for a raffle to be held during the month of September. Tickets will be for sale during the month at the Gallery with the drawing to be held on October 7th.
The Newark Garden Club has been in existence for over eighty years and has been extremely supportive of the community. They have worked on many projects to keep up the appearance of Newark, its village parks and gardens.
The “Then and Now” (three centuries of art) exhibit at Wayne Arts will run from September 1st through October 22nd.
