SUBMITTED by Susan Peterson Gateley (14-Sep-2011)
The workshop meets in the morning at the Hardware Café in Fair Haven for coffee before heading to the beach. Gateley explains that inspiration for Stone Stories comes from Anne Dillard’s essays on spirituality and exploration as collected in her book, <Teaching A Stone to Talk. After beach combing she says “We'll have lunch back at the Hardware Cafe and then go to the Wellness Center and Spa to write share and discuss our stone stories. The intent is to develop a personal essay or poem with potential for publication.”

The workshop cost is $25 and participants get a copy of Peterson Gateley's The Edge Walker’s Guide to Lake Ontario Beach Combing to help them with further “independent study." An optional add-on, a Hot Stone Massage at Bayview Wellness Center, at a discounted price, is also available. For more information or to reserve a spot, call (315) 594-1906 or contact Peterson Gateley via email susan@silverwaters.com.
