To The Editor:
The League of Women Voters of Wayne County would like to thank county residents and businesses for participating in two of our fall projects.
First, to candidates in contested elections, thank you for participating in our first Voters Guide through Vote411.org. We hope your campaigns were successful. We are planning on publishing a new voters guide during the 2012 election season.
Next, to the fourth grade teachers who participated in our "Take Me to Vote, Please!" project - we appreciate the extra work you did helping students become more informed about the election process and encouraging them to "vote". We would like to thank the "blue envelope messengers" who posted them in the election districts - members of the Wayne County Retired Teachers Association and other "Friends of the League"
We would also like to thank our sponsors - Reliant Credit Union, Wegmans (Newark), Sherman Williams Paint (Newark), Sunrise Imaging (Macedon) and Walmart (Macedon). Without your generous donations, we would not have been able to complete the Fourth Grade Project.
Lastly, to the students who "voted". Thank you for taking an adult to the polls on Election Day and for your vote. To the home-schooled student who voted, thank you for going the extra step and asking about our project. If you contact us, we'll make sure that you get an award.
Sincerely.
