Holiday Health Fair, Vision Screening, and Flu Clinic this Saturday in Palmyra

Wayne County Rural Health Network announces its annual Holiday Health Fair scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Palmyra Community Center, 424 Stafford Street in Palmyra, NY.

In conjunction with the Toy Free Cycle event sponsored by The Green Angels, the Holiday Health Fair features 18 exhibitors with information about health, social, and financial services available to Wayne County residents. By attending the Health Fair, participants will receive free holiday wrapping paper and tape. Free vision screenings will be provided by the Palmyra Lions Club. The Flu Clinic is sponsored by Wayne County Public Health. People wishing to have a flu shot need to show their insurance cards; no appointments are necessary to get a flu shot.

“This Holiday Health Fair is a wonderful opportunity for Wayne County residents to get a lot of their questions answered about health insurance programs, free health services, financial assistance, as well as other services and programs people may not be familiar with,” said Emilie Sisson, Manager of Wayne County Rural Health Network. “We are pleased to partner with The Green Angels for this second annual Holiday Health Fair.”

According to Sisson, in addition to the Wayne County Rural Health Network, the Palmyra Lions Club, and Wayne County Public, other exhibitors, Cancer Services Program of Wayne County, Fidelis Care, Sodus Community Health, Rochester General Medical Group, Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, Legal Assistance of Western NY, Victim Resource Center, Reliant Community Federal Credit Union, Roosevelt Children’s Center, Rochester Primary Care Network Dental and Community Health, Planned Parenthood of Syracuse and Rochester, Council on Alcoholism, Reed Eye Associates, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wayne County, and the Tobacco Action Coalition of the Finger Lakes.
