Register Now for Feb. 16 & 18 Young Boater Safety Training
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary and New York Sea Grant are partnering to offer young boater safety training as part of the February 15-19, 2012 Central New York Boat Show at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY.
The two-part course will be taught on Thursday, February 16 from 6pm to 8:30pm AND Saturday, February 18 from 9am to 2:30pm in the Horticulture Building Seminar Room. Pre-registration is required. Contact New York Sea Grant at 315-312-3042, slm22@cornell.edu.
Youth ages 10-17 may register now for the free training. Successful completion of the 8-hour course and proctored exam is required for youth to legally operate a motorized boat or watercraft alone on New York State waters.
Each youth registering for the course will receive two free admission passes into the 2012 Central New York Boat Show that is New York’s largest and oldest boat show.
Exhibits in three buildings at the NYS Fairgrounds showcase more than 500 power and sail boats, yachts, water recreation equipment, marine accessories and the 2012 Discover Clean & Safe Boating vessel at the show’s Boating Information Center.
