Submitted by: Jerry Ashley, Lyons Main Street Program
Due to rain, the Lyons Main Street Program was forced to cancel last Saturday's Canal Waterfront Clean-up. The new date for the waterfront clean-up will coincide with the Saturday, May 5th Downtown Spruce Up Day, 9 am - 1 pm.
The LMSP is asking all organizations (Rotary, Elks, Humanity Lodge, VFW, American Legion, Churches, Heritage and Historical Societies as well as the Lyons Schools) to encourage their members to come out in support of the month of May as "Clean Up, Fix Up and Paint Up Month" by assisting the LMSP volunteers.
Volunteers will be needed in downtown, the canal waterfont, Hotchkiss Building/Dobbins Park and Taylor Park (there is an immediate need for an organization to take on removal of graffiti on the gazebo at Taylor Park).
To volunteer or for additional information, please contact the LMSP offices at 315-871-4220
