We are proud to announce that the Village of Macedon has recently received the approval from Albany, the permit, to start the Butterfly Nature Trail at the Canal Park on Lock 30.
The purpose of this trail is to provide a place for all people to enjoy the beauty of nature. The trail will be a great educational tool for the intermediate school children to learn about nature and see first hand how nature relieves stress and anxiety. They will also learn about the history of the Erie Canal with the help of the Village Historian.
The local residents, visitors and canal travelers will have a destination point to come to and enjoy for many years.
The Macedon Village Pride Committee is working hard on this project and will have a walk-able trail by summer. The project will have different phases and the outcome will be breathtaking. We will be asking within the community for volunteers and gladly accepting donations to help make it a true success. Anyone who donates money or time will be recognized on a special plaque. This will not only show how much you care about the community, but how much we appreciate all that you have done for the improvement of this wonderful Village.
Thank you!
The Macedon Village Pride Committee
