The tradition of wearing a poppy from Flander's Field began as a way of honoring those who died in World War I and the Palmyra community came out in droves to support this long time tradition! An especially huge thank-you goes out to Breen's Supermarket, the community, and to all the Legion members who so generously volunteered their time to keep this tradition alive. We were overwhelmed by the generosity shown, especially in such tight times. All poppies were "sold-out" by Memorial Day!
Special thanks also goes out to Bev Ingutti, chairwoman, who spearheads this event every year. Shown above from left to right are Ethel Mae Johnson, Jim Arthurton, and Beverly Ingutti, representatives of Palmyra's James R. Hickey Post #120.
