The PumpkinPalooza! Committee of the Lyons Main Street Program is pumping up plans for another send up of the grand orange globe. This years' PumpkinPalooza! will be held on Saturday, October 20th with a
rain date of Saturday, October 27th. The popular fall festival has grown with each outing and the 4th annual event will be no exception.
Back for a return engagement are crowd favorites such as the PumpkinPalooza! Casket Races, Pumpkin Carving contest, Free Kids Games, Pumpkin Pie Eating contest, music, Costume Parade, and the signature event of the day, the Lyons Youth Ambassadors' Great Pearl Street Pumpkin Race.
Vendor booth applications may be requested by contacting the LMSP at lyonsmainstreetprogram@gmail. com and the booth fee for the 2012 event will be $20.
Also returning this year are "Transformers", a vehicle transformation contest where entrants take any vehicle on wheels and make it into something it isn't (think buggy eyes, fangs, or something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie). New this year is the addition of the PumpkinPalooza! Antique Show and Sale which will be held alongside harvest foods and games for the kids.
The next PumpkinPalooza! Committee meeting will be held on August 22nd at 6 pm at 37 Bear Street, Lyons. The committee invites any and all residents that would like to be a part of this fun event to attend the meeting and to bring along fresh ideas and their enthusiasm.
For additional information please contact the LMSP at the email address above or at 315-871-4209.
