MACEDON UNIT 494 AUXILIARY OUR PURPOSE The American Legion Auxiliary, the largest women’s organization in the world, supports the legion programs for veterans, community and young people. We serve God, country, veterans and their families. The Auxiliary is committed to the four founding principles: Justice, Freedom, Democracy and Loyalty. Our veterans depend on us, but we cannot do it alone. We need your help. Our veterans need your help. If interested in helping, please contact me at 986-5977 or Sandi Kelly at 986-2409. An organization such as ours is always changing; we gain new members and lose old members. New people, new thoughts, new assistance is what makes an organization survive and grow. Come and assist us as we give back to both the community and to our veterans. AUXILIARY WINTER RAFFLE WINNERS The Auxiliary extends its gratitude to the ten Macedon merchants who donated gift cards and other items to make the raffle another success. Contributors were CT Nails, Dunkin Donuts, Flaherty’s, Healthy Touch Wellness Center, Macedon Hills, Shell’s Pizza, Total Look of Hair Design, Verizon, Wal-Mart, and one anonymous donor. Winners were Carol Abaied, Mert Bartels, Ed Bates, Tom/Janet Bills, John Celinski, Marion Cole, Gladys DeBruyne, Julie Ellis, Pat Xxx, Karen Pickard, Linda Quadrozzi, Tracy Fille, Brandon Weeks, Barb Weidmann, Janice Worden, and Mark Wyman. YEARLY SUMMARY A picture of what Unit #494 Auxiliary has done this past year as community activities follows. • We send boxes of assorted items to two area soldiers overseas • We assist post with occasional monetary donations • We help enlighten the veterans of the Bickford House and others: o Furnish a ham dinner o Host a pizza party o Help Bickford House by providing a complete summer picnic menu o And provide Christmas gifts to the veterans there o Hold annual Christmas Bizarre & luncheon to raise money for programs o Donate money to the VA programs o Financially yearly underwrite the cost of sending one Pal-Mac junior to Girls State Auxiliary President Ginny Young ********* OTHER OFFICERS Penny Frederick, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President Debbie Bishopp, Secretary Sandi Kelly, Treasurer Janet Kester
