The Village of Palmyra Historic Preservation Commission has designated its first local historic landmark. Located at 353 Canandaigua Street
,
the Griffith Home, was built in 1925 by New York State Senator Henry W. Griffith, who introduced to the legislature the concept of Community Colleges. It is a well maintained residence and an excellent example of the Georgian style of architecture.
The Commission meets the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Palmyra Village Hall, 144 East Main Street/ NYS Route 31. Visitors are welcome.
