The purpose of the trip is to raise awareness
of the ability inside all People with Disabilities and raise funds for adaptive
Sports, Accessibility, Education and Employment for New Yorkers with
Disabilities for their assistance.

Congenital quad amputee John Robinson and quadriplegic Doug Hamlin will lead the way as Our Ability undertakes the largest event ever for People
with Disabilities in New York State- beginning June 23, a 17 day, 350 mile bike
ride beginning in Buffalo and ending in Albany.
John is
author of an autobiography titled Get OFF
Your Knees. Married for over 19 years, and the father of 3 children, John
carried the Olympic torch through Albany on its way to the Salt Lake City 2002 games.
On
Friday, June 28, John and Our Ability will ride from Palmyra to Abbey Park in Lyons- yes the
NEW TRAIL- --- tentative arrival time is noon.
On
June 29, Saturday morning at 9:00AM, John and the Our Ability entourage will tour the
Trail of Hope. At 11:00 AM they will launch from Abbey Park in Outrigger Canoes
and then paddle to Lauraville Landing in Clyde.
Outrigger
canoes will be provided by Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana, Inc. This organization
is a Rochester Chapter of Disabled Sports, USA. They especially honor and
include Wounded Warriors in their programs.
WELCOME these inspiring individuals ON FRIDAY AND THEN SEND
THEM ON A SAFE JOURNEY ON SATURDAY MORNING!!!! Better yet, show your support by kayaking or canoeing with them from
Abbey Park to Lauraville Landing in Clyde.
