Summer Sidewalk Festival and Mark DeCracker Day were held in
The Village of Macedon
Saturday, June 21, was the Main Street Businesses event partnered with the Macedon
Village Pride Committee. I would like to thank all who participated and attended. We all
had a wonderful time. If you were not able to attend, here is what you missed: two kittens
were found homes, big foot “Sassy Foot” was sighted which was a big hit for everyone—
Sassy foot really enjoyed the time with the Macedon Village Fire/Ambulance firefighters
and trucks. We had 21 unique vendors, music and to top it off the weather was perfect!
Put us on your calendar for next year!
Saturday, June 28, we honored Mark DeCracker. We had a wonderful day at the Canal
Park-Lock 30 at the Elmer Clark Pavilion. Thank you to everyone that took their time to
roast Mark. We certainly had some good stories and laughs. Mark is a great
environmentalist, teacher, and effective community leader and when he says he is going
to get things done, he means it!
On Friday, June 27, Macedon hosted the Jessiman family. Eric Jessiman is paddling a
kayak from Buffalo to Burlington, Vermont to raise awareness of autism. The rest of the
Jessiman family is traveling by RV and meeting him at camping places along the canal.
You can see their posts at www.paddlingforautism.com.
I encourage you to visit our website at www.villageofmacedon.org it has a list of your
events for the summer; we would love to see you, your family/friends, etc there.
Come join the fun, Village Life Matters!
