Ithaca, NY – New York Sea Grant in partnership with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is requesting proposals for projects that will benefit the environment and economy of the Great Lakes region of New York state.
To help not-for-profit organizations, local governmental and public agencies, and public and private educational institutions apply for grants of up to $25,000, New York Sea Grant will offer informational webinars on August 26, 2014 at 12pm and September 2, 2014 at 12pm. Those interested in registering may email their name and email address to prh22@cornell.edu to receive more information.
Grants will be awarded for projects that enhance community resiliency and ecosystem integrity. Ecosystem-based planning, monitoring, evaluation, assessment, implementation, stewardship, and demonstration projects and applied research projects are eligible. Projects must be located within or be directly related to the Great Lakes basin region of New York.
Proposals will be due by September 30, 2014. Grants will be announced in early November 2014. Application guidelines are online at http://www.nyseagrant.org/proposals.
