Laurel House is a comfort care home where residents spend their final days, at no cost to themselves or others, in a highly supportive, warm and compassionate environment, surrounded by loved ones and kind-hearted staff and volunteers who attend to their needs.

A  two-bedroom home is Newark is in the planning stages, a building has been obtained, a board of directors named and teams have been meeting and making plans for the past four months.

Our next meeting is set for this Thursday, May 7, at 2 p.m. in Lyons at the First Presbyterian Church, Queen and Broad Streets (use the Queen St. door). There will be refreshments. This is an effort to promote interest in the project from areas east and north of Newark -- Lyons, Rose, Clyde, Savannah, Wolcott and Sodus.

All area residents are invited to attend the meeting and learn more about Laurel House. We're looking for volunteers to help us in many, many ways.

For more information, contact John Addyman at 315-573-7489.

We hope to see you there this Thursday!
